Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the holistic art and science of utilizing naturally-extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote health of the body. It is the skilled and controlled use of essential oils for physical and emotional health and well being. As a holistic practice, aromatherapy is both a preventative approach as well as an active method to employ during acute and chronic stages of illness or ‘dis’-ease. It’s natural, non-invasive modality is designed to affect the whole person and not just the symptom or disease; and it can assist the body’s natural ability to balance, regulate and heal. Participants in this course will learn about the applications for different essential oils, buying and storing oils, and the safe use of essential oils. A consumable fee of $15 is payable to the instructor at the first class.
