The Women's Centre uses an identification system that shows the areas of early childhood development targeted by our children’s courses. The system is based on the Quebec government’s guidelines for early childhood educators and day cares. The four dimensions of early childhood development are: cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional.   The cognitive dimension covers your child’s abilities to absorb, process and apply knowledge in different ways. 40th Anniversary Wine and Cheese a Huge Success!

What a great party! On Friday, May 8, 80 people came together in our gym to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the WIWC. Guests included members and former members, current and former instructors, staff and board members as well as many friends of the Centre. It was wonderful to see women from all through the life of the Centre from the very early days through to a member who joined a month prior to the event! The room was filled with smiles and laughter as guests met up with old friends and made new ones, all bound together by the rich history of the Centre. Fun and Games Afternoon!

Let's have some fun together! Join us on Tuesday, May 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. for a Fun and Games Afternoon. We're getting together for talk, laughs, and games too! Bring a deck of cards or your favourite board game. You are welcome to bring a nut-free snack to share. This activity will take place in the Upstairs Classroom. MUHC: My Tool Box Workshops on Pain Management

On Monday, November 3rd, the McGill University Health Centre's My Tool Box "Chronic Pain Self-Management" workshops start at the Pointe-Claire Library from 1:30-4 PM. These fun, free, informative 6-week workshops are taught by certified volunteer leaders who have chronic conditions themselves. Learn to live well despite your chronic pain! Expanded PED Day Childcare Starting this winter, members can now sign up their school-aged children for childcare on school-level PED days in addition to board-wide PED days. It is time to start planning for the Women's Centre's upcoming winter session! The Winter Session takes place from January 11 to March 24, 2016 (10 weeks) Note that there are no classes during the first week of March (February 29 to March 4, 2016).
