Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program
Did you know that breast cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in women in Quebec? The Ministry of Health and Social Services offers free breast cancer screening to all women aged 50 to 69 who have never had breast cancer. The programme is called the Programme québécois de dépistage du cancer du sein (PQDCS). Participants are entitled to a free mammogram every two years. If you are between 40 and 49, you can have one free screening mammogram a year provided you have a prescription from your doctor.
The mammograms take place at designated screening centers. On the West Island, the location is:
Centre de radiologie West Island Inc.
175, Stillview Road, Room 350
Pointe-Claire (Quebec) H9R 4S3
