Why are we more forgiving and understanding of others than we are of ourselves? This 8-week support group offers women the opportunity to explore self-awareness, self-compassion, and living mindfully. By learning to respond to life and to ourselves with mindful awareness, understanding, and kindness, we can better handle difficult and stressful events and build emotional strength. This group is intended to be a healing and connecting space for women to engage in meaningful ways and feel revitalized to take on life’s challenges. The group will be facilitated by Yael Gutner, M.A., conseiller d’orientation, youth and adult counsellor.
Meetings will take place on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning on April 18, 2017.
The group is free of charge, but donations are welcomed. Registration is required. ** Please note that participants are limited to attending no more than two support groups per year.** To join the group, please call the Women’s Centre’s Outreach Line at 514-781-8529 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Space is limited. Meetings take place at the West Island Women’s Centre, located at St. Columba-by-the-Lake Church, 11 Rodney Ave., Pointe-Claire. (Please use the Vincennes Ave. parking lot entrance.)
