Perinatal Activities

The Centre offers a range of perinatal activities to support women during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. These activities provide a welcoming space for support, information sharing, and connection with other parents.

In partnership with other community organizations and qualified facilitators, activities include breastfeeding and fertility support, postpartum wellness, physio for babies, and parent-and-baby social groups.

All perinatal activities are offered free of charge. Donations are always welcome.

Breastfeeding Drop-In

Nourri-Source offers free Breastfeeding Drop-Ins with nurses from the CLSC Lac St. Louis and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Mother breast feeding baby

The breastfeeding drop-ins provide a friendly place where mothers-to-be, young mothers, partners, and siblings are all welcome. Breastfeeding mentors or health professionals (e.g., nurses, lactation consultants, etc.) will provide information on relevant topics and resources available in your neighbourhood. The drop-ins are also a great place to meet other new parents and to break the isolation that can occur after childbirth.

Time for Two Playgroup

Time for Two is an arts and crafts program for young families. The purpose of this mother-and-child playgroup is to offer an enriching, stimulating, and healthy environment where parents can bond with their child and socialize with other families in the community.

Time for Two encourages a positive and joyful experience for both mother and child. An additional benefit of the project is that mothers or caregivers can meet other members of the community and build a supportive community. The Time for Two playgroup promotes early educational development through play, arts and crafts, sensory stimulation activities, fine motor skills, physical activity and music.
