Breastfeeding moms, new moms, and expectant moms are invited to drop by this weekly breastfeeding clinic run by our local health service. It’s a great opportunity to meet other moms, weigh your baby, and discuss your health questions with a nurse. Different topics will be discussed, depending on the needs of the group. Free Seminar: The Roots of Happiness @ West Island Women's Centre

You will also learn how to use techniques to boost your own happiness and life satisfaction. Please join us for The Roots of Happiness Seminar!

Vittoria Ferraro has a B.Sc. in Psychology and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from McGill University. She currently teaches psychology and methodology courses at Vanier College. She is also a certified personal trainer.

Dealing with Separation and Divorce support group begins
Jan 22 @ 7:00 pm – Mar 26 @ 9:00 pm

This 8-week discussion-based support group offers hope and healing as it examines the realities and stages of separation and divorce. We will discuss fears, doubts and anxieties; daily survival and coping skills; forgiveness and reconciliation; managing loneliness; dealing with children; surviving the holidays; and setting boundaries for a healthy future. Some practical challenges (financial, legal, etc.) will be touched on as well. Each week will focus on a specific emotional aspect of this life-changing process while offering support and guidance to help you come to terms with your separation or divorce — regardless of how long it has been. The group will be facilitated by Ann Papayoti, B.A. Communications, ICF-CPC Life Coach, ELI-MP.

Registration is mandatory. Meetings will take place on Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning January 22, 2018. For more info, call 514-781-8529 or e-mail outreach@wiwc.ca.

Free Seminar: The Fundamentals of Investing 101 @ West Island Women's Centre

Woman sitting in chair on pile of moneyThe Fundamentals of Investing 101 will cover various types of saving accounts (RRSP, TFSA, High interest savings, RIF, LIF, etc.) and investment vehicles (GIC, mutual funds, etc.) in the market. Some retirement aspects will also be covered as well as the various government pensions available.

Karen Le Khanh Van Diep has worked for RBC since 2003. She graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelors in Economics in 2003 and received her financial planner designation from IQPF (Institut québécois de la planification financière) in 2008.
