Winter Walking Club

Are you looking for a new way to motivate yourself to get outdoors during the winter season? Chase away the winter blues and join our walking club. The group is led by two devoted members and they meet every Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The group walks for 90 min., snow, rain or shine so dress appropriately. This activity is free to all members including moms with stroller. Occasional childcare for pre-school aged children is available, please contact Iva at iva.rooney@wiwc.ca in advance. Walking with a friend is a great way to take the hard work out of working out and can improve your overall fitness and cardiovascular health. Get up and get moving!

Time for Two @ St. John Fisher Church Hall

The West Island Women’s Centre is offering a mom and pre-school aged activity on Tuesdays from 10:30 to 12:30at St. John Fisher Church120 Avenue Summerhill, Pointe-Claire.

The WIWC invites moms and their children to try out our free weekly Time for Two program! Come and join us for fun craft activities, play time and story time. The aim of these activities is to break isolation and to support all families.  With the assistance of our experienced instructor, parents also learn how to incorporate stories and art into their day-to-day family life.

Breastfeeding moms, new moms, and expectant moms are invited to drop by this weekly breastfeeding clinic run by our local health service. It’s a great opportunity to meet other moms, weigh your baby, and discuss your health questions with a nurse. Different topics will be discussed, depending on the needs of the group. A nourishing drop-in for mom and baby/child! Spouses supporting their breastfeeding partners are welcome too! For more information, call the CSSS l’ouest-de-l’ile — Lac Saint-Louis at 514-697-4111.

International Women’s Day Breakfast

The West Island Women’s Centre will celebrating International Women’s Day with our community partners, including representatives of local organizations, schools and municipal services, and we have a few spots available for members.
