Our Teachers & Facilitators Make Our Programs Possible

The West Island Women’s Centre wouldn’t be able to offer the variety and quality of programming we do without our dedicated teachers and facilitators.

Each one brings their own knowledge, experience and perspective to the Centre — helping create programs that are engaging, welcoming and meaningful for the women who take part.

From fitness and wellness to creative activities, practical skills, parenting programs, personal growth and support, our teachers and facilitators are at the heart of what we do.

Do You Have Skills, Knowledge or Experience You’d Love to Share?

We’re always interested in connecting with experienced English- and French-speaking teachers, instructors, workshop leaders and support group facilitators who could bring something valuable to our community.

Whether you have years of teaching experience, professional expertise or a skill you’re passionate about sharing, we’d love to hear your ideas.

What We’re Looking For

Our programming spans a wide range of interests, needs and stages of life:

Fitness & Movement

Classes that help women move, build strength, stay active and feel good in their bodies.

Yoga & Wellness

Programs that support flexibility, relaxation, mindfulness and mind-body wellbeing.

Creative Arts & Hobbies

Opportunities to explore creativity, develop new skills and enjoy hands-on activities.

Cooking & Life Skills

Practical and approachable programs that build skills and confidence for everyday life.

Pregnancy & New Motherhood

Programs that support women through pregnancy, postpartum and the early stages of motherhood.

Parenting & Children

Programs and activities that support parents, caregivers and children through different ages and stages.

Learning & Personal Growth

Programs that encourage learning, confidence, self-discovery, personal wellbeing and empowerment.

Support & Connection

Groups that offer women a welcoming space to share their experiences, find understanding and feel less alone.

Have an idea?
We’re always open to new possibilities. If you have an idea for a class, workshop or activity that could be a good fit for our community, we’d love to hear about it.

Teaching & Facilitating at the Centre

Our teachers and facilitators bring different backgrounds, skills and experiences to the Centre, but they share a commitment to creating positive and welcoming experiences for the women who participate in our programs.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Have relevant experience, knowledge or qualifications in their area
  • Are comfortable teaching, facilitating or leading groups
  • Create welcoming, respectful and inclusive environments
  • Enjoy sharing their knowledge and connecting with others
  • Can offer programming in English, French or both
