Women’s Career Pathways Program Coordinator
The West Island Women’s Centre is looking for an organized, creative and community-minded individual to develop and coordinate our new Women’s Career Pathways Program.
This program will help English-speaking women in the West Island build their skills, confidence and connections as they prepare to enter or return to the workforce. It will support women at different stages of their career journeys, with a particular focus on mothers, women returning to work and women facing barriers to employment.
Job Overview
The Women’s Career Pathways Program Coordinator will develop and manage the program from planning through delivery and evaluation.
Programming will include career-development workshops, individual career coaching, career assessments, résumé and cover-letter support, digital literacy training, guest speakers, networking opportunities and activities that connect participants with employers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate the overall program structure, schedule, curriculum and participant experience.
- Plan and oversee career development workshops, digital literacy training, coaching, assessments, guest speakers and other employment-related activities.
- Recruit and support facilitators, career coaches and guest speakers.
- Build relationships with employers, community partners, employment organizations and referral agencies.
- Organize key program events, including a career fair.
- Promote the program, recruit participants and manage registration, intake and follow-up.
- Coordinate program logistics with Centre staff, including rooms, childcare and materials.
- Track participation, attendance, referrals, services provided and program outcomes.
- Develop evaluation tools and collect participant feedback to measure program impact.
- Prepare statistics, updates and information required for funder reporting.
- Monitor the program budget and facilitator expenses in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Participate in funder meetings and Community of Practice sessions as required.
- Adapt programming based on participant needs, feedback and attendance.
Qualifications and skills
- Post-secondary education in career development, education, social services, human resources, community development, project management or a related field.
- Experience coordinating programs, projects, training or community initiatives.
- Strong organizational, project-management and communication skills.
- Experience developing participant-focused programming and working with facilitators, consultants or volunteers.
- Experience with community outreach, participant recruitment, data collection, program evaluation and reporting.
- Strong computer skills and comfort using Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
- Understanding of employment barriers faced by women, caregivers, newcomers and those returning to the workforce.
- Experience in career counselling, employment services, adult education or workforce development is considered a strong asset.
Position details
- Duration: 9-month contract (September 2026 to June 2027)
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Salary: $25 per hour
- Location: West Island Women’s Centre in Pointe-Claire
- Working conditions: Hybrid, combining in-office and remote work
