New Connections Cafe
The mandate for this group is to create a warm and welcoming environment, where the women are encouraged to talk about their ideas, their everyday lives, and the world around them. A large part of the mission is to make women feel that they are part of their local community and to help them develop a sense of belonging to society as a whole. Topics may include: legal rights, accessing resources (housing, enrolling children into school, etc.), and finding a job.
Instructor: Wendy Robinson
Wendy was a teacher of adults for seven years at Pearson Adult Career Centre in the Administrative Professional Program and Accounting. She is very passionate about teaching adults, and in her years of educating the public and students, she has cultivated a strong ability to build positive relationships with learners of varying communication styles and from diverse backgrounds.
