Supporting Your Child’s Physical Literacy Development at Home

Champions for Life is a charitable organization dedicated to helping children, through their schools, communities, and families develop physical literacy, especially in at-risk communities. The objectives of this seminar are to develop an understanding of physical literacy and its importance, to develop an understanding of how to motivate, develop confidence and a love for movement in your child, and to learn how to become an ‘active family.’
All the Women’s Centre’s seminars are free and open to the general public. This seminar will take place online via the Zoom application. Generally, seminars are 45 minutes long, with 15 minutes for Q&A.
Zoom login details will be sent to all registered participants 24 hours before the scheduled webinar.
Presenters: Joanne Lawson holds a Bachelor of Education Degree and an Honours Degree in Physical and Health Education. She is the Program Director at the Champions for Life Foundation and is responsible for Curriculum and Resource Development. She is passionate about instilling the love for movement in children and helping them along their physical literacy journey. Sabrina Manolakos is a certified Athletic Therapist currently completing her Masters at Concordia University. Sabrina grew up playing competitive soccer and now shares her passion for the sport through coaching.
