The West Island Women’s Centre (WIWC) is a dynamic and widely-used non-profit community organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of women. We provide educational, social and recreational services for women living in the West Island and the community at large.
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced French Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching French to students of beginner to intermediate levels, fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Deliver high-quality French language lessons tailored to the needs of participants.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, materials, and activities that promote language acquisition, with a focus on improving speaking and listening skills.
- Use innovative teaching methods that are interactive and engaging.
Assessment and Feedback
- Provide constructive feedback to help participants improve their language skills.
Learning Support
- Offer guidance and resources for participants to enhance their learning outside of the classroom.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and levels.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Qualifications
- Teaching certification or relevant qualifications.
- Proven experience as a French teacher or language instructor.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm for fostering a love of the French language and culture.
- Experience with adult learners an asset
- Familiarity with online teaching tools and platforms an asset.
