Job Posting: Member relations specialist – contract position

Position Type: Part-time (15hrs per week)
Location: Pointe-Claire and Pierrefonds (West Island)
Contract duration: August 2025 to March 2026, with possible extension
Working conditions: On-site with occasional remote work possible

Job Overview: A key role designed to provide direct support to members and target outreach efforts within the broader West Island community. This position will help strengthen the Centre’s presence and impact by supporting individual members and building connections with community partners. This role also works closely with our mutual partner, the West Island Community Resource Centre (CRC) on collaborative projects.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support to Members:
- Provide one-on-one psycho-social support and accompaniment to members at the Centre’s Pointe-Claire and Pierrefonds locations on a weekly basis.
Collaboration and Referrals:
- Work closely with the WICRC Resource Specialist to refer members, ensuring that women are connected with appropriate external resources and services.
Case Management and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of member interactions and needs, including follow-ups, and statistical reporting for internal and external purposes.
Outreach and Community Engagement:
- Support the Centre’s Community Development department by helping to promote WIWC’s programs and activities. This includes building relationships with key stakeholders, delivering presentations, and organizing trainings to increase awareness of WIWC as a central resource for women in the community.
Community Presence:
- Help to represent the WIWC at community events to strengthen the Centre’s visibility and engagement across the West Island.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in community or social support roles
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Knowledge of West Island community resources
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Bilingual (English/French)
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Flexible working evenings/weekends as needed for events
- Ability to travel between the Centre’s two locations
